ABOUT

Image.jpg

SUSAN GREENWOOD was born in the North of England but now lives in rural West Sussex, surrounded by stunning scenery and locations which feature in much of her writing.

She graduated from Manchester University with a degree in Zoology, left for London and a career in the fashion industry, then moved even further south to concentrate on her family.  Although the natural world is still an important part of her life, it's her long-held love of literature, both reading and writing, that is now her main driving force.

A fascination for the social history of the 17th century, and particularly how this relates to the lives of women, has been the foundation for her first three published novels which comprise The House Book Trilogy

THE HOUSE BOOK

Oakwood Grange is an old house complete with its own history in the form of The House Book, and it has new owners, but an incident from over 300 years ago refuses to be laid to rest.

Did witchcraft ever exist?  Does it still?

Even though there are a few odd little happenings and weird carved symbols around the house, common sense tells Janie Whittaker there's nothing to worry about...

...until looking into her own family history makes her think again.

AN UNCERTAIN LEGACY

This novel, Part 2 in the series, also serves as a prequel to The House Book.

Elisabeth Osborne is different – in ways that are dangerous for a young girl in the 17th century when witch-hunting is still commonplace.  Knowledge of herbs and the body are one thing but then there are the visions and much more besides ...

Unsettled until she finds the reason for her unusual powers, her adventures start in France and then take her to England where her hopes centre on finding the house from her visions which seems to call to her when life becomes too difficult.
